The
purpose of Covenant's Youth Group is to provide a place where youth can
gather in a fun and safe environment to explore their faith. This
exploration is part of a larger journey that includes questions, doubt,
relationships, mentoring and community. The community we have
created at youth group is a community that includes both the youth from
Covenant Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Ewing. The youth are under the direction of
Rev. Nicholas Hatch, of Ewing Presbyterian;
and the Covenant Shepherds, Michael
Cieplechowicz, Jessica Jaeger, Joyce Jaeger, and JoAnne Trevor.
Wow! What a fun month! We took in the awesome Ewing High Musical, “The Wizard of Oz,” –which had many of OUR youth group members participating in one way or another (acting, singing, lighting)! Way to go, gang—you all did a terrific job! This past month we also had fun having scavenger hunts, participating in the Crisis Ministry Walkathon, and exploring the place of stress in our lives. This month will be the last full month of youth group meetings but we will end it right—with some fun! We will have a fundraiser night on May 4 where we will make chocolate-covered pretzels in the Ewing Presbyterian Church kitchen and then sell them the following week on Mother’s Day at our respective churches after worship. Joyce Jaeger will lead this event—which promises to be a lot of fun—so don’t miss it! Also be on the lookout for a tubing trip down the Delaware River on June 1! More info will follow!
Hope to see everyone out at Youth Group in May!
Peace, Pastor Nick
