Who Are We at Covenant?
Covenant is a warm and lively community of diverse individuals. Here, people from different walks of life are bonded together by God's word and the struggle to bring that word to life in today's world. Give and take from individuals at different stages of their spiritual journey is a great source of Covenant's vitality.Through worship, we find new insights into Christ's personal message for us. Through group activities, we seek ways to spread God's healing love to each other and the community. Our Sunday worship service is uplifting and inspiring: an opportunity to hear a message in word and song that strengthens and renews our spirit. Sharing our faith, our joys, and our struggles helps us to sort out our place in a world that is at times confusing and full of conflict. Because we are dedicated to serving God and each other, every aspect of our church life is permeated by an attempt to foster peace--in our families, in our community, and in our world.
Our Mission Statement
The mission of Covenant Presbyterian Church is to encourage a diverse worship family that is representative of our past and embraces our future.
A Brief History
Covenant Presbyterian Church came into being October 5, 1947 with the merger of two Trenton congregations, Third Presbyterian and Fifth Presbyterian. Another church, Mount Carmel Presbyterian, with a largely Italian-American membership, soon joined the new union. We will celebrate our 60th anniversary this year!
Though the congregations that formed Covenant were diverse, we found strength in that diversity. From the beginning, the church has held to its basic mission; to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, to enable worshippers to find a deeper understanding of their faith, and to serve those in need in the larger world. Covenant's members have become in a very real sense a family, sharing one another's joys and sorrows. We would be happy to have you join us for worship. We look forward to getting to know you.

The Music Program at Covenant
Music always has been a vital element of the worship experience at Covenant. Our music staff consists of the Director of Music, Katherine Sandel and the Bell Choir Director, Lynn Atkins.
The Covenant Adult Choir and the Covenant Children’s Choir strive to provide a wonderful worship experience. They truly give their hearts and souls to the weekly service in the name of the Lord. Under the leadership of director, Katherine Sandel, the music program at Covenant has expanded. Mrs. Sandel has added a wide repertoire of music for the soul. On any given Sunday we challenge you to attend the worship service and not tap your feet to the sounds of the Covenant Choirs. All are welcome to join the choir. Why not attend on Sunday and listen? Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. (summer worship schedule - 9:30 a.m.) We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m., with extra rehearsals for holiday services.
When the Covenant Bell Choir rings the bells during worship it is an experience beyond belief. Under the direction of Bell Choir Director, Lynn Atkins, the Bell Choir has grown to be a most professional and talented group of folks. We are currently learning English Handbell Ringing. We did something completely new this year ― a massed handbell concert that was held on June 2. It was a great success! We also plan to cut our first CD recording this year! We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. No experience is necessary to work with us; we will be happy to teach you the ropes.
